Bladesmiths of the Blackstone Valley

Local bladesmiths Joshua Swalec of Ferromorphics, and Michael Coffey of Michael Coffey
Metals, bring to Worcester this collection of blades including chef’s knives, daggers, and
swords.

Bladesmithing brings the intersection of art and craft to the highest of levels, using techniques
such as forging, machining, casting, jewelry making, repousse, and CAD. Examples of the
design process and of the proportional underpinnings of each piece will be displayed alongside
the works. Also showing finely crafted blades will be local makers Ryan Bruer, Jon Maynard,
Zoe Potter, Joshua Prince, Jonas Warner, and Mathew Boisvert. We look to inspire, through
education and by showing a variety of blades, how old and new technologies can be melded in
innovative ways to push the craft to new limits.
