Yoga Sutras Of Patañjali
About the 3rd Limb of Yoga – Asana (Postures).
Sthira Sukham Asanam
Posture should be steady and comfortable.
The asana practice (the physical postures) is a very small part of what is yoga, but it is the gateway for most of us in the west. Postures should be a balance of effort and ease – steadiness and sweetness. At Third Eye Yoga Collective we are always open to modifications to de-intensify or intensify, as is right for your practice. If you are craving rest, please take rest. If something is not feeling right to you, please chose an alternative. Pain is never the goal and ego is truly the opposite of yoga.

HATHA-VINYASA MIX
A mix of hatha and vinyasa styles. Some mindful breath linked with movement (vinyasa flow) and some longer holds. Suitable for all levels, beginner friendly.

GENTLER HATHA YOGA
Gentle class with more instruction on the postures. A mix of sitting, standing and floor based postures. Slower moving, no flow, but focus remains on the breath. Suitable for all levels, including those with physical limitations. Beginner-friendly.

YINYASA
Yin’ swapped for ‘Vin’ signals a slower, intentional Vinyasa. Classes move deliberately toward a peak pose or focused opening, with mindful alignment and light, playful philosophy woven in. A balanced Hatha experience—effort and ease, yin and yang—best suited for experienced students.

SLOW FLOW
Vinyasa yoga moving at a slower pace. Breath is inked with mindful movement. Appropriate for students who have familiarity with basic postures and without significant physical limitations .

RESTORATIVE / YIN YOGA
A deeply relaxing floor-based practice for all levels. In Yin yoga, postures are held for minutes at a time, accessing the deep layers of the body, heart, and mind. Appropriate for all levels, beginner friendly.

FLOW AND LET GO
A soul-satisfying flow followed by restorative postures and an extra-long shivasana. Appropriate for students who have familiarity with basic postures and without significant physical limitations.

YOGA THERAPY & SOMATIC MOVEMENT
Great for anyone working with injury, pain, or wanting a nurturing, healing practice. Each class targets a specific area with accessible Yoga Therapy techniques and guided somatic work. Theresa also offers brief individualized support to tailor movements to your needs. Beginner-friendly and suitable for those with physical limitations.

INTUITIVE FLOW
Self guided yoga flow focused on intuitive movement and taking what you need from the practice. Class is loosely structured and cueing is minimal. All levels welcome including those with physical limitations, but some familiarity with the postures is necessary.

PRANAYAMA + MEDITATION
Sit with yourself for a while. Breathwork and meditation. All levels welcome.

Meng has over 20 years of yoga practice and 12 years of yoga instruction. She started because her doctor recommended the practice to help with insomnia and learned by following VHS tapes and DVDs that featured instructors like Rodney Yee, Bryan Kest and Patricia Walden. She later discovered the world of practicing within a studio community at Metrowest Yoga where she worked as a volunteer, yoga assistant and later on as a yoga instructor. She has since taught yoga at many studios around central MA, college, and corporate settings to people of all ages and abilities.
Meng has mainly studied under Theresa Murphy for both her 200 hour and 300 hour yoga teacher training certifications as well as a variety of other specialized topics including yin yoga. In addition to Theresa, Meng has also trained with Judith Lasater for restorative yoga and Tiffany Cruikshank for myofascial release. She has a continuous curiosity of using tools and props to help support people in connecting awareness to their bodies; as well as to an overall feeling of ease.

Jacki first came to yoga looking for a safe place, quickly realizing there is no safer place than coming back home to herself. She received her 200 hour certification from Metrowest Yoga and Training Center in Worcester in 2016.
Jacki teaches the way she practices – slow and intentional – with a focus on the power of choice and learning to trust yourself. She encourages practitioners to pay attention to what the practice feels like, rather than what it looks like, reminding them that yoga is a feeling, not a shape.
Even as a teacher, Jacki remains a student, continually learning from her practice, the yoga community, and the natural world around her. An enthusiast for the outdoors, she draws her deepest inspiration from nature. When not in the yoga studio, she can be found tending to her small scale market farm in Pomfret, CT, where the cycles of patience, growth, and resilience mirror the lessons of yoga.

Heather has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She has attended and received her 200 and 500-hour certifications in Prana Flow through Shiva Rea’s Samudra School, led by Shiva’s Senior teacher, Coral Brown. She wholeheartedly believes that yoga is about community and offers space for students to experience their practice in a dynamic yet supportive environment where compassion and acceptance are encouraged.

Taking a special interest in maintaining back health, she has completed several programs focusing on principles of alignment, biomechanics as well as yoga for relieving back and hip pain. Lilly has worked closely with physical therapists to bring components of PT to her own practice and teaching style. Most recently, she completed her 300HR Advanced YTT through Metrowest Yoga.
Lilly’s classes develop organically, depending on the students’ needs. With careful attention to alignment, breath, present moment awareness and core integration, Lilly guides her students to move from their center to find the essential balance between strength and mobility. Her classes are an invitation to play and create space for self-reflection. Sharing the gift of yoga has become one of her greatest joys and passions.
