Youth Summer Program Week 1: Environments (3-days) | July 1st-3rd
Price: $192
Morning: Stop Motion Animation
In this program, you will learn the basics of stop-motion animation and storytelling! At the end of this program, you will have built two clay or paper puppets and made two movies! The class will make a movie together, and you will make a movie of your own! You will leave this class knowing how to build armatures for clay puppets and how to make a story come to life! Each student will need a smartphone.

Afternoon: Art Experiments with Found Objects
Let’s go on a hunt to find things that we can make into art! Did you know you can make drawings, paintings, or prints by combining things from around the house and nature? It’s true! Artists have used found objects in artmaking for a long time, and we will check out their work and then go on a scavenger hunt to find fun materials! We will even turn those found objects into 3D sculptures, collages, and assemblages. Try new ways to look at things as art and experiment with creatively putting objects together. Go home with all kinds of art and art tools that you made from things that you found.
Youth Summer Program Week 2: Materiality | July 8th-12th

Morning: Let’s tell our stories!
In this class, we will use mixed media to create different ways of storytelling. New ideas on how to tell a story will be introduced each day. This class will include the making of various projects such as:
- Comic strip/comic
- Storytelling short books through photos/ drawings
- Collage
- Flipbooks
- Scrapbook storytelling
- Zine making

Afternoon: Paper Possibilities!
Learn about all of the possibilities for paper. Make your own paper from recycled paper and plant fibers. Then, try creative ways to attach and bind paper into your paper into your own handmade journal. Explore ways to use paper pulp as paint, like clay, and create paper mache sculptures.
Youth Summer Program Week 2 - EVENING OPTION: Materiality (Teens Age 13-17) | July 8th-12th
Price: $300
Evening Option: Creative Basketry and Macrame
In this 5-day intensive workshop, we will use copper wire, rattan, and macrame cords to create baskets, vases, table mats, and more! No experience is necessary; all materials are included. This class is for teens ages 13-17.
Youth Summer Program Week 3: Abstractions (3-Days) | July 15th-17th
Price: $192
Week 3 Morning & Afternoon: Abstract Creations in Glass!
Create a mosaic-like stained glass window hanging using multiple pieces of colored glass chosen from bins of pre-cut smaller pieces of glass. Add glass nuggets or other small solderable shapes to create a one-of-a-kind abstract window hanging. No experience is necessary; all materials are included.
Please wear natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool, etc.) and closed-toe shoes.

Youth Summer Program Week 4: Movements | July 22nd-26th
Week for Morning & Afternoon: Short Film Making
We will watch examples of short films on the first day. Students will work together to create the idea of the film and create a storyboard, and then we will designate roles for the movie. Depending on time, we could make several short films. It could be a Silent film, Music video, or Narrative and more! On the last day, students will create movie posters and set up for the screening of the movie(s). Let’s invite family members to our movie theater!

Youth Summer Program Week 5: Magical Creatures | July 29th-August 2nd
Price: $320
Week 5 Morning & Afternoon: Fantasy Art
Inspired by the world of fantasy creatures, dragons, and mythical realms, create a series of drawings, paintings, and sculptures in this fun and imaginative class. Students will illustrate imaginative landscapes and characters while developing skills in drawing, composition, and color theory. We will also work with self-hardening clay, glass gems, and metallic paints to sculpt one-of-a-kind dragon eggs. Students will be encouraged to develop their creative freedom in each project and push their imagination to new limits. No experience is necessary; all materials are included.

Youth Summer Program Week 6: Elements | August 5th-9th
Price: $320
Week 6 Morning & Afternoon: Exploring Enameling and Identity
Let’s explore enameling together! In this course, students will learn the basics of enameling through three basic enameling techniques: sifting, stenciling, and sgraffito. Students will also learn basic jewelry sawing techniques. They will explore the concept of identity and create their own personalized motif. Students will use their personalized motif to create pins, pendants, and more! No experience is necessary; all materials are included.

Youth Summer Program Week 7: Color Wheel | August 12th-16th
Price: $320
Week 7 Morning & Afternoon: All About Natural Dyeing and Fiber!
In this program, you will learn all about natural dyeing and make a small tapestry with fiber from scratch! We will make yarn from freshly sheared sheep, collect ingredients from nature to make dye with, and dye the yarn with that dye we make! From there, each student will make a small tapestry with the yarn they spun and dyed!

Youth Summer Program Week 8: Solar System | August 19th-23rd
Price: $320
Week 8 Morning & Afternoon: Stained Glass Color Overlay Bright Sun
In this week-long class, you will create a Bright Sun window hanging. The sun will be created by using two layers of glass. When two pieces of colored glass overlay each other, a third color will emerge. This will be a fun class with a focus on color theory and construction. As with paint, when you mix two colors, a third color is created. The same effect happens when you overlay two pieces of stained glass.
Please wear natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool, etc.) and closed-toe shoes.
