Area of Expertise: Weaving, Fiber art
I run my weaving studio SAORI Worcester since 2000. I dedicated to teach SAORI weaving, a freestyle artform from Japan as well as teach dyeing, spinning, and related fiber activities to all ages and abilities in the community. I created a program called Seed to Fashion which people grow indigo plants in a garden, learn spinning, dye the yarn with indigo leaves, and weave a scarf with the yarn. I teach schoold students and people in the community through the program for 6 years.
I make designed handwoven garments and wall hangings with/without my own hand-spun yarn.
