Hooked rugs are an important part of the craft heritage of New England's early 19th century Maritime regions. Like our ancestors before us, who created rugs for practical and decorative use as floor coverings, contemporary rug hookers transcend the functional to create aesthetic, yet useful pieces. This 6 week course will explore the steps of hooking your own rug from design to finishing techniques and introduce the tools used in the process. Students will complete a 14"x12" ruglet.
